Jackson recently replaced the PTFE strips on two of the bearings on the QE2 Bridge at Dartford. This involved jacking the deck 18mm in order to remove the old strips and install new ones. This job was done overnight, and involved full closure of the eastbound carriageway of the bridge. The bearings were accessed using a 48m high cuplock scaffolding, which was erected in under seven days.
