The pair spent one evening a week in the school helping the pupils design and build a sustainable and innovative model sports stadium. The team were crowned the East Midlands winners at a regional final held at Nottingham Cricket Ground in May and were then entered into the national final which took place in June at the ICE headquarters in Westminster. The competition, which involved eight schools from across the UK, was extremely tough and The Duston School were runners up. Steve said: "The kids really enjoyed the visit to the Institution of Civil Engineers. It was disappointing not to win the final but it was a great experience working with the young engineers of the future and watching them develop. We are all looking forward to next year, and hopefully we will do even better."
