Jackson Civil Engineering secured the contract for the Section 278 works on the A228 at Snodland based on an alternative bid providing significant savings in both time and cost by promoting a “top-down” construction approach to two road over rail structures.
These structures accommodate a proposed roundabout forming the principal access for the new cement works at Snodland.
The approach adopted by JCE was to work closely with Lafarge and MouchelParkman (the original scheme designers) to determine the key critical aspects of the scheme and by using Peter Brett Associates, develop the design so that these aspects were catered for in the optimised design and subsequent construction phase.
