The A6 Alvaston Bypass is part of the Highway Agency’s programme to complete the A50 Stoke Derby Link and is the remaining section of the road spur into Derby from the Southern Bypass. The £10.6 million scheme involved the Design and Construct of 3.2km dual carriageway immediately to the South of Derby, including:

• New footways, cycleway and equestrian facilities
• A cable stay bridge at Green Lane and bridleway bridge at Elvaston Lane
• Underpass for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians
• Use of recycled and secondary aggregates
• Construction of an at-grade junction
• Full ecological and archaeological assessments
• Environmental earth bunds and landscaping
