M1 Widening Junction 31 to 32

The scheme involved widening of the M1 motorway between Junctions 31 and 32 from dual 3 lane to dual 4 lane.  The project included the following work:

• Addition of a single lane to each carriageway
• Construction of portal and cantilever sign/signal gantries
• Highway Communications
• Lighting
• Drainage
• Central Reserve Works

This section of the motorway included cuttings and embankments, Conduit Moor Overbridge, Vessey Close Overbridge and Penny Hill Lane Underbridge.
