Project Design Manager

Location: Flexible

Due to increased workload we are looking for a Project Design Manager who will join a dynamic, innovative, focused and engaged team, tackling an increase in workload from a variety of key clients, including the Environment Agency, Highways England, local authorities and private clients.

Key Responsibilities

Provide assistance and advice regarding design input required at tender stage
Assist in building designer/JCE integrated teams
Manage and review consultant and sub-contractor design work and assist in maintaining the approved design consultant register
Provide advice and assistance to site staff on design matters
Advise on appropriateness of technical solutions
Provide advice and assistance to site staff on design matters
Act as Design Co-ordinator during the tender period, and construction stage, as required
Advise on design responsibilities under CDM 2015

Skills Required

We are after someone with good collaborative communication skills who has a liking for detail.
Ideally, you will be from an engineering background, so you can envisage how schemes are built and have an understanding of the need to work to accepted design processes, procedures, guidance, codes and standards
The ideal candidate will also have programming software skills and an awareness of applicable CDM Regs requirements alongside a general understanding of common construction specifications. The management skills to encourage designers to provide on time, right first time, solutions. will also be required.
