Sub Agent

Location: Lincoln

Due to increased work load we are now recruiting for a Sub Agent or Site Agent in our Northern Region. You will be working on the Asset Western Recovery Programme which will involve working on existing river flood defences. Works is varied and will include; flood bund earthworks, sheet piling, river bank stabilisation. Drainage works will include headwalls/ outfalls to reinforced concrete flood walls.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Site Agent or Project Manager in the execution of his duties, and management of smaller construction contracts.
Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors.
Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans.
Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
Preparing and monitoring programmes of work.
Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors.
Manage design co-ordination.
Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts.
Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary.
Foster good relations and reputation with clients.

Skills Required

We are looking for someone with a real ‘can do, will do’ attitude, who is ambitious, a team player and flexible. This role could also suit a Senior Engineer who is looking to step into a management role.
You must be able to maintain and monitor works against a programme and budget and have the ability to prioritise your own workload. You will be able to run multiple complex and none complex sites and maintain comprehensive records. You will have the ability to forecast cost and programme
You will have compliance with current legislation requirements, including the production and implementation of RAMs and other associated safety/project documentation.
You will have experience in the UK civils sector, working with the NEC form of contract. You must also have a relevant industry qualification (SMSTS or equivalent). You will have significant main contractor civils experience including Earthworks, Drainage and flood defences.
