Planning Engineer / Senior Plannning Engineer

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

To strengthen our Southern Region, we are recruiting for a Planning Engineer or Senior Planning Engineer. The role involves using your site experience to find technical solutions to engineering problems, initially working on a Highways scheme with Kent County Council near Sittingbourne. You will be responsible for ensuring that project programmes are both consistent and accurate and will deal with project change in conjunction with the project site management team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare resourced programmes, including definition of methods and outputs in conjunction with the project management team.
Regularly review and update the contract programme and submit to meet contractual requirements.
Maintain the as-built programmes records.
Review site records including contractual notices and communication, allocation sheets, diary sheets, COI’s and instructions from the client.
Assess the impact of project change on the contract programme.
Input into the Project Risk & Opportunities Register.
Provide input to monthly forecasting/CVR process.
Support the project team and communicate with the Client to recover change.
Prepare tender programmes and associated quality submission documentation as required.

Skills Required

The ideal candidate will have a wide experience of working on civil engineering sites, particularly highways knowledge and experience with a main contractor and have site experience to at least Section Engineer / Sub Agent level.
You must also have a SMSTS and CSCS card in the appropriate discipline and have a BSc/ HND/ HNC qualification.
We’re after someone who can work within a team with good communication skills and technical engineering knowledge
Ideally the successful candidate should be conversant with programming software, such as Asta or Microsoft Project.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
