MEICA Project Engineer

Location: Midlands

We are recruiting a MEICA Project Engineer to strengthen the existing team given a predicted increase in MEICA work related projects. This role would be to support the current MEICA Co-ordinator increasing the resilience of the MEICA Team. This role will predominantly be office based in Tamworth or Huntingdon, but expected to visit sites, client and consultant’s offices, requiring some overnight stays, to help develop robust scopes and solutions for MEICA projects.

Key Responsibilities

Development of works scope and sequencing considerations, supporting the development of scheme costs to establish project deliverables for client’s approval and subsequent delivery by Jackson’s operational delivery teams.
Involved in scoping and delivering asset investigation / survey works and reporting, to establish the scope of works that maybe required, working closely with our supply chain the client and consultants as well as the procurement and management of those services on the ground.
Produce regular reports on the status of the projects and attend key project, design, and construction team meetings across the projects.
Collaborate with other Jackson key functions, client, designers, community, stakeholders, and public relations managers to ensure the portfolio projects are achieved.
Assist Jackson quantity surveyors in tender bids for the MEICA element of tender bids.

Skills Required

You should hold professional membership with minimum status of Incorporated Engineer - qualified as either a Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer - with a comprehensive understanding of the other discipline. You should have preferable experience of pumping stations, river and tidal control structures (with electrical or hydraulic actuation), level monitoring instrumentation (ultrasonic, radar or pressure transducers) and control systems using PLC and HMI control.
You should have experience of attending FAT’s and SAT’s for MEICA projects and hold a full UK driving licence. As well as experience in dealing with Statutory Bodies, Clients, specialists, subcontractors, supply chain etc.
We are looking for a good understanding of the latest CDM regulations, as well as an understanding of BIM to be able to help in the closing of MEICA related projects.
Have a good understanding of the latest CDM regulations to be able to carry out the role of Design Coordinator on MEICA projects as well as understand BIM to be able to help in the closing of MEICA related projects.
Have a good knowledge of MEICA Assets and the associated construction / project management considerations, through experience, training, and education. Willing to undertake further training. We are also looking for experience of promoting good practice relating to sustainability, carbon reduction’ sharing best practice and learning.
