Our people are the business
Happy people make every business work better
Happiness depends a lot on how fulfilled we are in our work. The range of ways we make work rewarding, supportive, involving, fair, and enriching are central to making a positive impact on people’s lives.
We prioritise well-being throughout the business, support people, and encourage a supportive and caring attitude in everyone. The result is a culture of care that is driven by happy people always looking out for one another.

Development is the point of departure
Many people join Jackson at an early stage in their careers that will grow and shape their lives.
We actively support individual and team development through formal learning and qualifications, as well as through specific training interventions.
While we recruit new people under the national Apprenticeships programme, we also hire graduates. In both cases a formal development programme continues with the business.
All employees have an allowance of training days with a generous budget each year to pursue specialisation and professional development.
The 5% club encourages learning within the industry. It sets the minimum target for the proportion of the workforce in ‘earn and learn’ positions. We generally hold around 12%.
Staying healthy
A positive attitude to safety, and to the health and wellbeing of all our people, and everyone around us, is embedded in the culture of Jackson.
Aside from the obvious physical health and safety that is a core component of life at work, we also support awareness and maintenance of mental health. Around a quarter of our workforce are mental health first aiders – trained to spot early signs of stress and to talk to people if they want to.
A positive attitude to Health & Safety is embedded in our culture.
Everyone can take community days to support causes close or further afield.
Flexibility keeps us fit
Mobile communications mean work is always with us. But we shouldn’t always be at work.
We operate a hybrid working policy that makes for a better balance between office and home.
Community days create space for voluntary involvement that brings its own rewards beyond the break from regular work.
And time off at the end of a hard week is always appreciated, so our Great Escape initiative allows people to leave early on a Friday where appropriate.
