A purpose beyond profit

It's not always what you do but how you do it

What are we here for, if not to make things better?

We believe that doing things right is best for everyone.

As a company, we aim to demonstrate that how we work is better for our people and those we work with, for the projects we deliver, and for the communities where we work.

GOOD WORKS is our shorthand for that idea and we support it with a set of business values that guide our people and our decisions, and underpin our whole approach to the work we do.

Social value is as good a measure for a business as financial value

Social value is the golden thread that runs through all of our pillars.

We do that by prioritising the welfare of our people— their well-being and safety always come first.

Our projects create growth, support skills development and strengthen communities.

And we direct our operations to reduce our carbon footprint, reduce waste, and invest in sustainable construction practices.

Our whole approach demonstrates responsibility commercially, professionally, socially and environmentally.

Five pillars or principles guide our people and our company, and support our brand.

By aligning these principles to everything we do, we are increasing the value of the business, not only in financial terms but in its broader social worth too.

People

For every business, people are the bedrock, and we know a bit about good foundations.

To deliver the high standards that Jackson strives for, it’s vital we ensure our employees are supported, motivated, skilled and empowered.

Our aims are always to attract and retain the most talented; to encourage and support diversity and inclusion; to advocate continuous learning and career progression; and to enhance employee well-being.

While we invest in our people, we are also investing in the communities where we work. We believe in compassion and respect, and promote a wider wellbeing ethos that has a positive impact beyond our own business.

Our people are our bedrock.

The people are the business

Of course it’s a duty, but it can also be a passion.

The starting point is to ensure we maintain a safe and healthy environment, physically and mentally for everyone who works with us.

But the outcome is that everyone is able to fully enjoy their work and their life with Jackson.

That means creating the conditions and providing the individualised support needed to ensure we all contribute, learn, develop, and excel in ways that make life at Jackson rewarding.
