Trainee Foreman

Location: Dartford

We are now recruiting for a Trainee Foreman for our Highways Division, so easy access to the M25 is a must. A further learning programme will be provided which could be in the form of an apprenticeship.

Key Responsibilities

Direct the work of operatives and sub-contractors.
Ensure environmental systems are implemented satisfactorily.
Carry out toolbox talks on a regular basis.
Ensure use of materials to be in accordance with specification.
Plan and order materials and plant to achieve programmes.
Check and ensure that operatives and sub-contractors have necessary competencies.
Ensure that works proceed in accordance with site programmes.
Ensure all plant on site is suitable for the task and conforms to current legislation.
Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.

Skills Required

We need someone who is conscientious, hardworking, IT competent and is excellent at keeping records. Experience in people management and motivation of staff is desirable but not essential.
You will have experience in the UK civils sector, working with the NEC form of contract.
You will have significant main contractor civils experience ideally in highways, infrastructure and structures.
The successful candidate must also have a relevant industry qualification (SMSTS or equivalent).
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
