Initiatives aim to encourage more women
into civil engineering
Jackson Civil Engineering has signed up to be a Gold Member of Women into Construction (WIC) with a view to launching a number of initiatives to encourage more women to consider a job in the sector.
WIC is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes gender equality in construction and seeks to normalise the position of women in the sector. One benefit of membership is that WIC's job opportunities page will link to Jackson's careers page – a move the company hopes will see more women apply for vacancies within its business.
Jackson’s Head of HR and Training, Claire Finbow said the company had signed up to WIC as part of its overall diversity plan.
Jackson’s Head of HR and Training, Claire Finbow said: "We want to work with the team in order to encourage more women to consider a role in the construction industry, whether as a new entrant, current or a returnee. During 2022 we will be working closely with WIC to advertise our job roles and provide workshops, advice and guidance to women who are looking to join our industry and our business."
