Inspiring the engineers
of tomorrow
A Jackson team pulled out all the stops to give young people a view into the world of civil engineering at a recent careers day.
More than a 100 engineering students at Suffolk One Sixth Form College in Ipswich were invited to try their hand at different surveying techniques before hearing about the apprenticeship options Jackson offers.
The team also talked to students about the process of mixing and testing the strength of concrete and showed them around several pieces of plant equipment kindly brought along by our sister company Emmitt Plant Ltd.
A big thank you to Jackson supply chain partners Tom Button from Vizual-ize and Muneer Hassan from Survey Hire who spent the whole day with us engaging with the engineers of tomorrow.

'If we can get one more person into the industry to help bridge the skills gap by attending events like this, then that has to be a good thing.'
