Tadcaster Road scheme
nearing completion
A multi-million pound scheme to improve one of the busiest roads in York is nearing completion following a 14-month construction period.
A Jackson team is overseeing the project on the A1036 Tadcaster Road on behalf of City of York Council, which includes £1.4m to improve walking, cycling and bus travel along the 4km stretch.
This forms part of a much wider £5m roadworks scheme, funded by the DfT, aimed at tackling substantial longstanding issues affecting highway drainage.
Double shifting of works has occurred over the last couple of months as main carriageway surfacing and road marking works have taken place at night under road closures with diversion routes agreed with both City of York Council and National Highways permit teams.
