Graduate Quantity Surveyor

Location: Chigwell

The Graduate Quantity Surveyor will support our Senior Quantity Surveyors in our Highways Division. The role will be working on interesting civil engineering schemes and projects can include highways, infrastructure, bridges and general heavy civils.

Key Responsibilities

Provide general assistance to Senior Quantity Surveyors
Assist with preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
On-site measurement and measurement of drawings as required
Assist with identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
Feasibility studies of client’s requests
Assist with preparation of estimates and analysing sub-contractors’ quotations
Assist with preparation and agreeing variation accounts
Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
Assist with providing evidence for resolution of disputes

Skills Required

We are seeking a proactive problem solver, a confident communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals.
Graduates holding an undergraduate or Masters degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management (or similar) with 1 year experience either in an industrial placement year or post graduate.
•Excellent verbal and written English and be able to demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving as well as the ability to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role by possessing impressive numeracy skills.
Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Southern region
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK without restriction.
