Good progress being made
on Lyminster Bypass scheme
A Jackson team is making good progress constructing a bypass on behalf of West Sussex County Council.
The team is delivering the northern half of the Lyminster Bypass, which will alleviate traffic issues through Lyminster village. The proposed bypass will be a 7.3m wide single dual carriageway with verge on one side and a shared footway/cycleway facility on the other.
A new viaduct will also be constructed over an area known as Black Ditch and its associated flood plain to ensure that there is no increase in flood risk.

Piling
Piling to support the viaduct piers is nearing completion and is being carried out by supply chain partner Cementation Skanska. At the northern end of the site, the surcharge area is being filled at the agreed rate and should be finished in about a month.
The scheme is expected to be completed by summer 2024 and as far as is possible, it will be constructed off-line from the existing road network to minimise disruption to road users during the works.
